When We Are Closed
Call 111 when the surgery is closed and you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency.
NHS 111 in the new service, introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses and paramedics. The service is for primary care emergencies at night, at weekends and on Bank Holidays. Your problem will be assessed and you will be offered either advice, an appointment at an NHS Centre or a home visit. Transport to the appointment is the responsibility of the patient.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains, shortness of breath, possible strokes, severe abdominal pain, head injuries with loss of consciousness and all very sick children constitute an emergency.
