Referrals

You may have come to see one of our clinical staff and been referred to an outside agency such as a consultant at the hospital or a service in the community. Our typists will send you a text (if you have a mobile number on your record) that the referral has been submitted for you – this is only for hospital referrals.

We do not know when your appointments at the hospital will be, so please refrain from calling the surgery to enquire about this. You can see the outpatient waiting times here: First Outpatient Appointment | Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust

If you wish to find out more about the status of your referral, or when your appointment might be, please contact the various booking offices:

  • 2 Week Wait Referrals – These are referrals considered to be of the utmost importance and are often to exclude serious illnesses such as cancer. Please call the 2 Week Office on 01872 252323

If you are unable to make your appointment, please contact the relevant booking team or the number on your appointment letter so it can be rescheduled for you and free up an appointment for someone who may also need it.

You can also manage your appointments via the Patient Hub Login

Community Referrals

District Nurses – The District Nurses are a community-based team that visit housebound patients for things like blood tests, blood pressure, dressings, and wound management. If you have been referred to them and wish to contact the team, please call 01736 755756.
